Masterplanning is fundamentally about vision and the delivery of change through the creation of new places. Every masterplan is a new challenge requiring imagination and the creative input of not just the designer but the client, communities and an array of specialists.
The process typically commences with the brief, which is taken from the client and other stakeholders, to allow the goals to be established.
Once the necessary team is established and research undertaken alternative masterplans are prepared and evaluated to ensure that the preferred masterplan represents the most efficient and cost effective way of meeting the goals. The masterplan is in many cases not a permanent document as it can be changed and rewritten over time.
The preferred masterplan option can be developed into phasing, infrastructure and implementation plans.
